On June 22nd, Chen Zuorong, Chairman of the Wenzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, presided over a symposium and had face-to-face exchanges with industry associations, scientific research units, and enterprise leaders to jointly plan for the deepening development of the pump and valve industry chain.

It is understood that there are about 3200 pump and valve enterprises in Wenzhou, with over 80000 employees. From January to May this year, the pump and valve industry in the city achieved a total industrial output value of 14.19 billion yuan above designated size. At the symposium, the Pump and Valve Industry Chain Office and relevant departments reported on their work. Industry associations, research institutions, and enterprise leaders exchanged ideas on talent cultivation, technological innovation, platform services, and industrial support, and put forward targeted opinions and suggestions.

Chen Zuorong pointed out that

The pump and valve industry in Wenzhou has a strong foundation and is a key link in building a "5+5+N" industrial chain in our city. We need to improve our position, strengthen our confidence, firmly grasp the clear direction of developing the manufacturing industry, give full play to the role of the "Ten Ones" mechanism of the industrial chain length system, promote the reconstruction of the pump and valve industry foundation and the upgrading of the industrial chain, strengthen digital empowerment, technological innovation, and factor collaboration, and accelerate the construction of the pump and valve manufacturing industry cluster.

Chen Zuorong emphasized

We must base ourselves on the current situation, focus on the long-term, and plan for the medium and long-term development of the pump and valve industry with high standards, focusing on building a national innovation design and manufacturing base for important system process equipment. We need to strengthen the cultivation of the industrial chain, focus on "supplementing, strengthening, and optimizing the chain" to carry out precise investment promotion, vigorously cultivate chain owners, promote the construction of large platforms, enterprises, and brands, and comprehensively enhance the overall competitiveness of the industrial chain. We need to strengthen technological innovation, increase investment in enterprise research and development, promote precise docking between enterprises and universities, strengthen support for technology and talent, promote the transformation of industrial development towards digitization, integration, intelligence, and green, and achieve deep integration of the innovation chain and the industrial chain. We need to increase policy support, in accordance with the requirements of "one enterprise, one policy", increase the guarantee of funds, land, policies and other factors, optimize the business environment of enterprises, and safeguard the high-quality development of the industrial chain.
